This week’s M.O.T.W. is former Costa Rican presidential candidate José María Villalta. The Broad Front Party leader is 36 years old, lives in a group home in La Uruca, and notes his favorite book as George Orwell’s 1984.
Not taking the election loss well, Villalta has been on a week long binger. Family members stated that since Sunday’s results, Villalta has consumed nothing but special chicharrones and la chicha. In his only public appearance — on Wednesday afternoon — he was seen running through UCR’s campus wearing a Che Guevara t-shirt, and shouting “Viva la revolución!”
When asked for one final quote before he went on vacation, an exhausted looking Villalta reiterated, “I am not a communist!” as he boarded a Venezuelan plane headed for Havana.
